Taylor Swift buys $4.9million house, across from the Kennedy family

Taylor Swift will soon be neighbors with the Kennedy clan after buying a 13-room beachfront mansion at Cape Cod for $4.9million.

According to People magazine, the Nashville-based singer, 22, who is dating Conor Kennedy, 18, has bought a house in Hyannis Port, Mass., across the street from Conor's grandmother Ethel.

Swift was sighted at the idyllic vacation spot in Cape Cod with her boyfriend and his family earlier this month.

The Hollywood Gossip said the 13-room 1928 home was originally on the market for $13.5million two years ago, making it one of the most expensive summer homes around.

But when it failed to sell, the price was slashed and Taylor swiftly moved in.

The residence is located on a private beach and comes with a guesthouse and a private road with seasonal security.

The New York Daily News reported the Kennedy family has had a long history on Cape Cod. The Kennedy Compound served as the home base to John F. Kennedy during his run for presidency as well as the "Summer White House." Senator Ted Kennedy also lived in the compound.

Swift is reported to have been a source of support for Conor, whose mother Mary committed suicide in May. Since then the romance has blossomed.

Let's hope love continues to flourish, as a break-up could make things awkward.
