The Muppets divorce Chick-fil-A over anti-gay stance
Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy shared his thoughts that family should only be made up of man, woman and child.
The entertainment company behind The Muppets has cut ties with Chick-fil-A over the fast food chain's anti-gay marriage stance.
The Jim Henson Company had agreed to partner with the fast food giant to provide toys for its kids meals from mid-July to Aug. 18, but posted the following statement to its Facebook page late Friday:

"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD."
The controversy over Chick-fil-A's views on gay rights came to a head after company president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press that he was "guilty as charged" of supporting the Biblical definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman, Reuters reported.

"We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit," Cathy said. "We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."
Also not a fan of Chick-fil-A’s position? Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, who vowed to block the chain from opening in his city by making it extremely difficult to acquire the proper licensing, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Nearly 4,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott Chick-fil-A.
The company does have its share of suporters, including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who wrote on his Facebook page he has been "incensed by the vitriolic assaults on the Chick-fil-A company."
