Katherine Jackson reported missing amid legal stoush over pop star’s will

Reports that Michael Jackson's mother Katherine was missing have been disputed by Jermaine Jackson on Twitter.

Katherine Jackson's nephew, Trent, filed a missing person report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office late Saturday night, CNN reported.

The 82-year-old's grandchildren had been unable to get in touch with her for a week, CNN wrote.

The family was reportedly involved in a dispute over Katherine Jackson's finances and legal affairs, and over Michael Jackson's will which, according to the New York Daily News, five of his disinherited siblings have claimed was fraudulent.

According to Tito, Randy, Jermaine, Janet and Rebbie Jackson claim specifically that the late singer’s estate lawyers, John Branca and John McClain, lied to get family matriarch Katherine Jackson, 82, to agree to increase their percentage of the gross income from their brother’s estate.

In a poison letter to the lawyers, they wrote: "Your actions are affecting her health, and on top of that, we’ve just found out she recently had a mini-stroke.

"Please understand, she’s not equipped to handle the stress load you are putting on her."

However, Jermaine Jackson took to Twitter to deny the report, saying that his mother was fine and resting out of state.

Jermaine tweeted:

I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us — Jermaine Jackson (@jermjackson5) July 20, 2012

He later added: "This is our mother and her health is paramount. We are not inventing or plotting anything. We are following doctor's advice. Period."

Despite this, police confirmed that the missing persons report had been filed.

CNN reported that Jackson left her California home on July 15 to fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to attend a Jackson brothers concert.

Her eldest daughter Rebbie was reportedly traveling with her.

However, when Michael's daughter, Paris, tried phoning her grandmother over the course of the last week, she was told that she could not speak to her.

Michael Jackson's three children had reportedly been living with their grandmother since their father's death in 2009.

Michael Jackson named his mother in his will as their legal guardian.

Lt. Josh Thai told RadarOnline: "The report will be referred to the Homicide/Missing Persons Unit, and they will be handling the investigation."

Katherine Jackson's lawyer, Sandra Ribera, meantime, was quoted as saying: "I'm concerned that she's not safe." 

According to Australia's Murdoch media, Ribera said: "The kids were trying to get a hold of their grandmother and they haven't been able to reach her for almost a week."
