A simple but generous gesture from Seth Collins on behalf of his brother, Aaron, will continue much longer than they expected.

YouTube video of Seth giving a Kentucky waitress $500 has started to make the rounds on the Internet, generating thousands in donations.

The 2:50 video shows Seth and family after eating pizza at Puccini’s Smiling Teeth in Lexington.

He then explains to the unidentified server that his 30-year-old brother died of cancer on July 7, and that his final wish was to carry out a random act of kindness.

Seth then hands the young woman $500.

“I don’t even know what to do,” she says. “You know, I’m going to be telling this story for the rest of my life.”

She asks about Aaron, and Seth says he’s written Aaroncollins.org on each of the bills in her hand.

“I’ll share it, with everyone,” she says.

After a day online, the site has generated about $10,000, or enough for 20 more opportunities to pay it forward.

As of Friday afternoon, more than 660,000 people had viewed the video.

“When I started this site I only expected to receive donations from friends and family,” Seth writes at Aaroncollins.org. “Even in my wildest dreams, I imagined we would receive enough money to do this for 2 waiters or waitresses. What has happened is absolutely incredible.”
