Jerry Sandusky trial resumes, jury rehears testimony

Jurors in Jerry Sandusky's child sex abuse trial listened again to key testimony on Friday, their second day of deliberations, the Associated Press reported.

According to CBS News, they asked to rehear testimony from former assistant Mike McQueary who reported seeing Sandusky assault a boy in a Penn State shower, as well as the testimony of Dr. Jonathan Dranov, who told the jury that McQueary gave him a different account of what he saw.

Joe Amendola, the former Penn State assistant football coach's lawyer said an acquittal of his client on all charges would be "a shock," adding he'll "probably die of a heart attack" if his client beats all the charges.

Sandusky is accused of sexually abusing 10 boys over 15 years and faces 48 charges against him. Judge John Cleland dismissed three of the 51 counts against the former Penn State football coach.

The jury deliberated for more than eight hours Thursday before adjourning, the AP wrote.

The sequestered panel does not know about allegations from Sandusky's adopted son Matt Sandusky, who said on Thursday that his father abused him and said he had been willing to testify for the prosecution.

Matt Sandusky made the statement through his lawyers Andrew Shubin and Justine Andronici as the jurors began deliberations.

Soon after Sandusky's arrest in November, Matt Sandusky's ex-wife Jill Jones obtained a restraining order to keep her three children from sleeping over at their grandparents' home, CBS reported.
