Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan banned from Mumbai stadium after brawl

"I'm not drunk," is right up there with "No disrespect" on my personal list of statements that almost always mean exactly the opposite of what they say.

So I'm a little suspicious of Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan's explanation of his behavior during an altercation with security officials at a Mumbai cricket stadium this week. (Note the attached photographic evidence).

Apparently, I'm not the only one. The Mumbai Cricket Association on Friday banned Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan from entering the Wankhede Stadium for five years for misbehaving with its officials and violating its rules, the Times of India reports.

Meanwhile, it's like a feeding frenzy on twitter, as fans go ape-kaka on the screen idol once best known as the Bollywood star who never cheated on his wife (even in rumor).

That too after the star claimed that he only went all Naomi Campbell on the security team because they were pushing around some little kids who'd run onto the field (including his daughter).

Mid-life crisis? We should have seen this coming when he broke out those six-pack abs.

Here's what happened, in the words of "SRK" himself, reported in The Pioneer:

“They (security officials) aggressively towards me. I think that they never expected that I would retaliate to their highhanded behavior. They instead must have thought I would get scared and go away from the place… Some people are saying I was drunk. Everybody knows that I drink only socially and never drink at home. I was not drunk at all."

Asked if he would apologize, the Bollywood star said: “They (security officials and MCA office-bearers) should apologize to me for the manner in which they behaved…. They were extremely high-handed .. If this is kind of treatment that is meted to people, I personally would not like to go there myself… I am extremely disturbed that they should manhandle children."

“….. They manhandled little girls. I would not deny that I was abusive but it started when this gentleman came from behind said something foul in Marathi which I cannot repeat,” the actor said.

Apparently, that is why SRK looks so red-faced and puffy-eyed in the picture above. No explanation for the bed-head, though. And that's what's got my Spidey senses tingling.
