Tuesday UN monitors visited the Syrian city of Homs, the site of violence in recent months between government forces and opposition activists.

There were reports of shelling in the area on Tuesday.

The World's Laura Lynch joined the monitors and speaks with Marco Werman about what the expedition was like.

Meanwhile parliamentary elections have taken place in Syria -the first in 40 years that did not guarantee a majority for the ruling Baath party.

Opposition activists denounced the vote and boycotted it.
