Adnan Rashid: Video of Taliban prison escapee surfaces (VIDEO)
Video of Adnan Rashid — convicted of trying to murder former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf — has surfaced after his escape from Bannu prison along with more than 380 other inmates.
Video of Adnan Rashid has surfaced after his escape from Bannu prison in northwest Pakistan on April 15, 2012, along with more than 380 other inmates. Rashid, convicted of trying to murder former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, is shown being welcomed by the Taliban, speaking with his hosts in Pashtu, according to Pakistani news site Dawn.
"Qari sahib, how are you? How is your health? Are you feeling well," the person filming asks Rashid, reported India's IANS news site. "Alhamdullah (All praise to Allah), all is well," Rashid replies.
When asked about the jailbreak, Rashid nods and says "Alhamdullah (All praise to Allah)." He also replies with a yes in the video when asked if he had been in prison for the attempt on Musharraf's life, and states that he had been in prison for eight years and four months and had been sentenced to death.

Waqar Ahmed, a senior police official, confirmed that the man in the video is Rashid, reported CNN. He also said investigators think Rashid may have been the target of the weekend jailbreak.
Rashid is a former technician with the Pakistan Air Force, according to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. He was sentenced to death in 2005 for his involvement in the 2003 assassination attempt on Musharraf. Dawn reported Rashid insisted he was innocent of all charges while he was in prison.
