The dictionary of mental health disorders, the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, is currently debating whether to redefine the description of autism in their new edition. If the definition is revised, it could cut the number of people diagnosed with autism in half.  Melody Benbow is the mother of five-year-old son, Calvin, who has autism. She’s also the Coordinator of Talk About Curing Autism, a nonprofit dedicated to providing support to families with autistic children. She shares her thoughts on how a new definition of autism could change life for her and her son.
