Blackberry outage over yet?

Blackberry service has been restored worldwide, says the head of the Canadian-based company that makes the devices and runs the service, according to the Vancouver Sun.
Research in Motion, Ltd. Co-Chief Executive Mike Lazaridis announced Thursday that "all of the services are back up globally," the Sun reported.

Fox News reports that many Americans woke up to still empty inboxes on Thursday morning, as service in the United States and Canada was still slow or down.
According to the New York Times, the outages began on Monday in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and by Tuesday had spread to Brazil, India, Chile and Argentina. The outages reached North America on Wednesday, affecting users' ability to use the web and the Blackberry messenger service.
Though Lazaridis made an apology and vowed to "regain the trust of our customers," the Wall Street Journal reports that stock in the company is still down about 2.5 percent. The company was already struggling to retain their market share amidst increasing competition from the iPhone and Android phones.
Reuters reports that RIM could be faced with a compensation bill from network providers for the costs incurred by the outages.
