Ivory Coast: Gbagbo Negotiating his Surrender

The Takeaway

A spokesman for Gbagbo said that his home has been fired upon and hit at least 50 times by a United Nations Mi-24 helicopter. The BBC’s John James reports from Ivory Coast. He says that fighting hasn’t ceased and it’s unclear what the terms of the negotiation are. Peter Pham, director of the Michael S. Ansaari Africa Center at the Atlantic Council in Washington helps contextualize the fighting.
