Russian plumbers got talent

When you think Russia and pipes, you probably think of thousands of miles of oil and gas pipelines, criss-crossing the country to bring energy riches to the world.

Think again. Meet SanTekhnik’s Jazz, which translates into Plumber’s Jazz, a five-man band from Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region who hope to make it big as the country’s first – and only – piping band. They’ve even entered the Book of Russian Records, which I guess is a local version of the Guiness Book of World Records.

“Not one of the participants in the group has any musical education, simply the desire to play on original instruments,” writes Life News. Now they’ve got their sights set on the Guiness Book and a world tour, the tabloid writes. We wish them luck.
