Obama visits Rio Jesus, heads to Chile

In case you were worried he missed it, Barack Obama did see the concrete Jesus. On what was likely their last stop on a quick tour of Rio de Janeiro, President Obama and his family stopped by the city’s iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and took in what view there was. The sun had set by they time they set foot below the mountaintop monument, and yesterday evening saw light rain in many parts of the city. But the tabloid O Dia managed a positive spin nevertheless, saying the tourist spot was “enhanced by mist and a full moon.”

The Obamas now head to Chile for the next stop on the president’s tour of Latin America.
