New Data Shows Number of Civilian Deaths in Afghanistan

New data released Thursday by the US-led military coalition in Afghanistan and provided to the journal, “Science,” shows the civilian casualties in Afghanistan over the last two years. According to the report, 88 percent of the 2,537 civilian deaths were caused by insurgents; and 12% were the fault of American and coalition forces.  We speak with John Bohannon, a contributing correspondent for Science who first got access to the data.
