Some musicians strive to keep tradition alive.

Celtic groups, Appalachian pickers, Portuguese fado singers…they’re all connected to strong musical roots.

And then, there’s an ensemble like Lo Cor de la Plana.

It’s an a capella group from Marseille.

The members sing in the southern French language of Occitan….. a language that’s more than a thousand years old.

But Lo Cor de la Plana leaves the door wide open to contemporary elements.

The group dropped by our studio recently and performed for us.
