For today's Geo Quiz.........follow your nose. We're looking for one of the wine capitals of the world. This city in south-western France has produced wine since the 8th century. Breath in the air around any of the thousands of wineries called ch�teaux..... ...And you may detect the aroma of the classic red wine produced here. We'll talk to the owner of a chateaux that's been producing some of the most expensive and prestigious wines in the world. Now his nose is among the most prestigious noses in the world. Circling back to our Geo Quiz now...we were looking for a city in south west France. It's one of the international capitals of wine...where thousands of vineyards and wine producing centers called chateaux produce millions of bottles of classic deep red, fruity wine. The answer is Bordeaux, France, (44� 50′ N, 0� 34' W) the capital of the French region of Aquitaine. Listen to our interview with one of Bordeaux's leading vintners. Ilja Gort is the Dutch owner of Chateau de la Garde and the producer of Tulipe wines. Not only are his Bordeaux wines distinctive and prestigious, so is his nose! Gort recently insured his nose and his sense of smell with Lloyd's of London for eight million dollars.
