Botswana’s tongue-in-cheek threat to send 20,000 elephants to Germany was a response to the German government for seeking a ban on the import of hunting trophies. But it brings up something important: Elephants are tricky neighbors and Botswana is home to 130,000 of them, the largest elephant population in Africa.
