The Sunflower Movement in Taiwan was a student-led grassroots movement that stopped the rushed passage of a bill that would have tied the island closer to China 10 years ago. Students occupied the Legislature for three weeks. The movement awoke the power of the people, and is credited with changing Taiwan’s political direction as Ashish Valentine reports from Taipei.
