Opposition parties deliver stunning upset to Erdogan’s party in Turkish local elections

Turkey’s main opposition party, the CHP, won municipal elections in 35 of the country’s 81 provinces Sunday, which included Turkey’s largest cities. It’s the party’s biggest election victory in 45 years. The World’s Durrie Bouscaren reports that the results are a blow to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s party, the AKP.
