Hip-hop in South Korea

South Korean boy and girl bands like BTS have almost always have a rapper or two in their lineup. And hip-hop itself has been grounded in country since the 1990’s. Haekyung Um has written extensively about Korean pop culture and the hip-hop scene. She also teaches global popular music and Asian music industries at the University of Liverpool. She speaks to host Marco Werman.
