Govt attempts to silence Cambodian rapper ahead of elections

Cambodian rapper Kea Sokun has been warned by the government to remove his most recent song from music platforms. (He was previously arrested and jailed for inciting social discord.) This warning comes as national elections approach, and the government seeks to maintain its nearly 40-year grip on Cambodia. Ashley Westerman spoke to rapper Kea Sokun, who says his music is written to draw attention to the problems of ordinary people.
