Abortion is legal until the 14th week under any circumstance and until the 22nd week for health reasons — plus, it’s free of cost under the public health care system. But abortion rights activists say there’s still work to be done: Some Spanish provinces have no doctors willing to perform an abortion and undocumented migrants can’t access abortion care. Plus, there’s an increasing presence of outlier anti-abortion groups that want to strip back rights – many with ties to the US. The World’s Lucía Benavides has this story from Barcelona.
