Saudi singer: People say, 'I hope you die, I hope you burn in hell, you're a slut.'

If you think it's hard to make it as a musician in the US, try Saudi Arabia. Music isn't officially illegal, but many Muslims there believe that music is forbidden — so not only are there no karaoke bars, but shredding that guitar solo might actually get you in trouble with religious police. But that doesn't mean that there are no aspiring Saudi Idols.

Update: Virginia police order BBC journalists to delete footage of suspected shooter's crash

Virginia investigates why police forced two journalists to delete footage in the aftermath of yesterday's double-killing of a TV crew. The state says it's against police policy to order destruction of such evidence, and civil libertarians say the police move was against the law.

Without ska, there would be no reggae

In the 1960s, rock 'n' roll gave birth to many new styles of popular music. One of those was Ska, which originated in Jamaica and was a precursor to reggae. Filmmaker Brad Klein has just come out with a documentary tracing the history of ska, "Legends of Ska. Without ska, there is no reggae."
