MINNEAPOLIS, April 23, 2015 – PRI announced today that its website, PRI.org, has been selected as an Official Honoree in the 19th Annual Webby Awards in the Websites: Radio and Podcasts category. This designation represents PRI’s qualification in the top 20% of the nearly 13,000 entries received by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners. David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards, noted it was “an incredible achievement” to receive this distinction.

The new PRI.org was launched in late October of 2013 to offer global news and engagement on a responsively designed platform, allowing it to be easily consumed on both desktop and mobile technologies. Since its launch in October, 2013, traffic has quadrupled, with significant consumption occurring on mobile and through social. The site also attracts a younger demographic to its content on-line, with 56% of visitors under the age of 40. “We are thrilled with how consumers are responding to our content through our new site. Making our content available/engagement on multiple platforms is essential as PRI helps build a stronger global community. To be recognized as an Official Honoree by the Webby Awards is confirmation of our belief that content which connects us to ideas and to each other is valued,” said Alisa Miller, President and CEO of PRI.
