PRI Expands Relationship with CBC to Distribute Two New CBC Programs in the U.S.

Minneapolis, MN – May 31, 2016:  PRI is building upon its position as a leading creator of audio content and curator of emerging talent and voices by introducing two new compelling programs to public radio. CBC offerings Out in the Open and Podcast Playlist will join As It Happens, Day Six, q and q: The Music, also from the CBC, as part of PRI’s portfolio of programs.

Out in the Open, hosted by Piya Chattopadhyay, invites us into difficult and intimate conversations that we need to have and that touch most lives, like sharing secrets online, grieving and addiction. Piya and her team will look at how one timely topic is affecting regular people, and ask listeners to join the conversation. An adventurous and wide-ranging weekly show about real life, Out in the Open launched in the U.S. on May 28.

Podcast Playlist is designed to help people navigate through the ever-growing world of podcasts by curating the best stories from the podcast world.  Each week, audio DJs Matt Galloway and Lindsay Michael feature intriguing content and interviews with some of the most brilliant minds in podcasting. Podcast Playlist is a place for discovery, introducing listeners to new ideas and perspectives. Podcast Playlist debuted in the U.S. on May 13.

“PRI was founded on the belief that there are thousands of voices that deserve to be heard,” said Alisa Miller, President and CEO of PRI. “Out in the Open and Podcast Playlist feature the diverse perspectives that PRI is known for, and will help people discover, better understand, and navigate their place in our dynamic world. We are excited to deepen our relationship with the CBC by adding these programs to our portfolio.”
