Tory Starr is a former social media producer for Human Needs and SafeMode, newsroom wrangler and Social Bear adjudicator at PRI's The World.

Tory works with the teams behind WGBH's national productions on their social media strategies and best practices. Her passion is helping public media producers use social media to find new ideas, engage new audiences, and tell important stories in a new way. She joined The World from 2012 to 2015 as the program’s first social media producer, and built social communities around the program's Human Needs (global health and development), Global Nation (feature reporting on immigrant lives in America) and SafeMode (international security through a millennial perspective) verticals.
