T.J. Raphael

I'm the digital content editor for The Takeaway, a national news program that delivers analysis on the topics of the day. Host John Hockenberry invites listeners every day to learn more and be part of the American conversation on-air and online at TheTakeaway.org.

Before joining The Takeaway, I was senior editor of FOLIO: & EXPO magazines. In print and online, I covered media industry best practices, breaking news, social networking, content marketing, media-based economics, event production and technology.

Before FOLIO: & EXPO, I was a staff reporter for The Legislative Gazette, based in the New York state capital; a contributing writer to The Village Voice in New York City and a reporter for the New York Daily News, where I covered everything from entertainment to crime. My work has been cited by the New York Civil Liberties Union, the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism, The Economist and Mashable.com, among others.

I graduated with honors from Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. When I'm not working, you can find me making Indian food, listening to podcasts and spending time at the Atlantic Ocean.
