Steven Moss is an associate professor of English at Texas State Technical College in Waco. His master’s thesis, “NASA and Racial Equality in the South, 1961-1968”  was one of the first academic works on the topic and led to his book We Could Not Fail: The First African Americans in the Space Program.Moss is a member of the Loyal Order of Toad Ranchers and lives in Texas  with his cat, Rhubarb.
