R. B. Stuart is a New York author, freelance writer, columnist, photographer, and a contributor for The Huffington Post, where she reports on U.S. soldiers returning from the war in Iraq with cancer.

Since April 2006 she has been an advocate for cancer-stricken soldiers and their families, bringing to the forefront their stories of cancer post-Iraq. Stuart has been tracking her findings on Operation Purple Heart where she maintains an evidence-based statistical list of soldiers diagnosed with cancer, some of whom have already died. Stuart has also written for Glamour magazine, The New York Times, Poets & Writers, Distinction magazine, The Improper, Newsday, Hamptons Online, Long Island magazine, Real Estate New York magazine and Elements magazine.
