I'm a student in International Development and History at McGill. My research has been focused on Latin America, but I'm interested in all things global and multicultural: I am Franco-American, go to school in Canada, and have done work on Africa and Asia within my development major. I'm thrilled to be entering the world of radio production, and to have the chance to explore topics that I'm passionate about. When I'm not reading about the crazy things happening all over the world, I enjoy taking long walks while listening to podcasts, playing three different chords on the ukulele, and plenty of Netflix.
Mexico’s drug kingpins are being taken out, but crime is still rising
The states Guerrero, Michoacán and Jalisco are experiencing a surge in crime, despite the fact that the government has eliminated most of the major drug cartels — long the source of the country’s worst crime problems. But it may be that seeming success that has led to the new problem with crime.
