Since 1984, "Mountain Stage" has showcased over 1,500 musical legends and rising stars that cross all genres and traditions. REM, Lyle Lovett and Joan Baez have all graced "Mountain Stage." Host Larry Groce welcomes a handful of guests each week in a forum of time-honored traditions and original, influential voices. It's the place where musicians go to play. About Larry Groce
Larry Groce has been host, artistic director and co-producer of "Mountain Stage" since its inception in 1984. He comes from a singer/songwriter background that includes the top-ten hit "Junk Food Junkie," nine albums for Walt Disney Records (five went gold, three platinum), more than 40 children's records and a Grammy nomination for Best Children's Record of the Year. Groce has uncovered many artists — several of whom appeared on "Mountain Stage" before making their mark in the industry — such as Lyle Lovett, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin and Counting Crows to name only a few. Little-known facts about Larry
He plays guitar, lap dulcimer, mandolin and banjo, once owned a ballet school, and the first album he ever purchased was by The Kingston Trio.
