Israel’s ICJ trial is calling up Germany’s dark history — and it’s not the Holocaust

As Israel wrapped up its arguments in ICJ last week, Germany released a statement saying it intended to intervene in the case: “In light of Germany’s history and the crime of humanity – the Shoah, the Federal Government sees itself as particularly committed to the Convention against Genocide.” But as Rebecca Collard reports from Berlin, many disagree, pointing to Germany’s two genocides.
