Suicidal veterans may not be getting help they need
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs treats suicidal veterans suffering from PTSD and other mental health issues. According to recent reports, there are 950 suicide attempts per month by military veterans, and many are not receiving the treatment they seek right away.

Cheick Modibo Diarra is Mali's new prime minister, at least on an interim basis, and is key to hopes to restore democracy to what had been a very stable African nation. His roots are in Mali, but his education and work brought him to the United States, where he eventually was a key leader on the Mars Pathfinder mission.
Graphic photos of U.S. troops with Afghan bodies published
An anonymous soldier sent The Los Angeles Times a series of 18 graphic photographers of United States military personnel posing with Afghan corpses. On Wednesday, the newspaper published a selection of those photos. The Pentagon has condemned the images and has launched a criminal investigation.
