An American ambassador and three of his diplomatic colleagues were killed Tuesday in an attack on the American consulate in Bengazi, Libya -- the first time an American diplomat has been killed in at least two decades. A German doctor filed a criminal complaint against a Jewish mohel for performing ritual circumcisions in that country — a practice one court found to be illegal. Meanwhile, in the United States Monday, the American Academy of Pediatrics revised its position and recommended circumcision as a beneficial practice for infant boys.

The music has died in northern Mali as Islamic extremists exert control

Northern Mali was taken over by militants and Islamic extremists and now they're in the process of implementing a system of Sharia law in that part of the country. That's meant an end to musical performances across the part of the country controlled by the extremists.
