Studio 360 honored with Murrow, Third Coast Awards; This American Life wins at Third Coast
Two shows from Public Radio International have been honored with awards in recent weeks.
Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen from PRI and WNYC has been recognized by the Radio Television Digital News Association with a 2012 National Edward R. Murrow Award.
The Best Use of Sound Award was given for the Adventures in 3D Sound segment in which Kurt interviewed Edgar Choueiri, the Director of Princeton University's Electric Propulsion and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory, who has developed a way to render sound in three dimensions. As part of the segment, Choueiri gave audiences an exclusive first listen of his 3D audio technology. You can listen here to the piece on Studio360.org.
At the Third Coast International Audio Festival, which celebrates audio storytelling, Studio 360 received two Honorable Mentions in Best Documentary at the Third Coast Festival. My Parents’ Extreme Tango Makeover and She Sees Your Every Move received the awards.
This American Life was also honored with a Best Documentary: Silver award at the Festival for its episode What Happened at Dos Erres, about the massacre of villagers in Guatelmala, and one of the survivors of the massacre.
