Positive progress in Afghanistan finally begins to emerge

The pullout of American forces from Afghanistan by 2014 has some feeling hopeful about the future of the war-torn country. But with the ongoing drone strikes in Pakistan, and continued violence in Afghanistan, it's often hard to see the progress over the border.

This is propaganda IMO. The 11 year 3 month long U.S. / NATO war in Afghanistan is DOOMED and has been for years. Every winter, the nadir of the fighting season in Afghanistan, for the past 3 years the American people have been entreated by claim of progress in this long lost war. Bottom line: United States has NO RIGHT to occupy Afghanistan and to foist endless war upon the long suffering Afghan and Pakistani people.

This is propaganda as far as I'm concerned. The American people have been fed the line about progress in this long lost war for years, especially during winter when fighting ebbs. Bottom line: United States has NO RIGHT to occupy Afghanistan and to foist endless war on the long suffering Afghan and Pakistani people.

Yes, it IS propaganda.

It is propaganda for PULLING OUT.

We have not "finally" showed success.

I spent two years training Afghans; working with them.

Yes, it's propaganda all right. The Afghans are capable of defeating The_Taleban right now.

They do NOT have the combat enablers: aviation assets sufficient to succeed.

If you haven't been there, you know NOTHING!

Are there issues and problems, yes. We've had successes there for several years.

Propaganda, aided by the email from a vet. Don't trust veterans to look at this issue honestly - they are PART of the problem, they have been fully indoctrinated and you can not trust their viewpoints to be objective.

It is WAY past time to leave the MISTAKE of a war we were LIED into creating by a conservative puppet and a vice president who saw American deaths as so many more $$$$ opportunities for his legion.
