Spanish community looks to marijuana growing as road to economic recovery

Rasquera, population about 3,000, has a budget problem. Roughly $1.5 million in debt from run-of-the-mill infrastructure projects. Like most Spanish communities, the economic downturn and debt crisis has laid it low, but a new plan has emerged, grow marijuana, that could pay off its bills -- if it doesn't split the town in half first.

And there goes the Spanish soccer teams. Let's be real given the economic situation. Marijuana legalization can bring billions to the economy. Everyone has always been adamant that drugs support terrorism, and organized crime.

Well, lets legalize it, tax it, and take money away from organized crime, it's so stupid it makes sense!

I agree with bar owner Joan Marti that if they can grow sunflowers that are worth $2000 US per plant, go for it! If not, the pot operation sounds like a better plan, if they can keep the national police off their backs.
