Spain's Catalonia region, in the northeast part of the country, wants its independence. It's been a goal of many for a while, but with Spain's economy continuing to languish, discord has broken out in visible ways, manifested Tuesday in a march that according to some drew as many as a million people.

You say Catalonia still needs Madrid because we have recently asked $7 billion to them... But why don't you say a word about the fact that the diference between what we pay to Madrid and what we get back is between $15 billion and $20 billion every year, for the last 30 years?

Instead, it may be Spain who still needs Catalonia!! Sadly, foreign journalists keep asking spanish news agencies to fill in their international pages, instead of trying to get both sides of the story.
