Behzat C is one of the most popular shows on Turkish TV, with the public at least. Among government censors, however, it's a popular target. It's not your typical Turkish TV show.

It is true that Behzat and his friends drink almost everyday but they do not smoke regularly, in fact i don't remember a single episode in which a character smoked a cigarette. In the movie version, which came out last summer, i remember that some characters did smoke (which seemed to be an instance of hidden marketing). And the photo accompanying the article may be from the movie and not from the the tv show.
