If you've seen Skyfall, you've probably been struck by the lair that the movie's villain has. It turns out, those deserted buildings and run down landscape are real, and really deserted, with a complicated history dating back to 19th century Japan.

wow, what a fascinating place. I would like to know more, the truth of what went on there. It's clear it wasn't all `above board`. It's even more sinister that people today don't have freedom of speech to discuss it, clearly fearful of repercussions of they tell the truth. That part disgusts me. I can't believe people lived there like that. For the sake of those that died, the truth should come out.
