Salman Rushdie knows what it's like to be a wanted man. After he published his novel The Satanic Verses, the leader of Iran issued a call for his death. Rushdie went into hiding, with armed guards protecting him at all times. He's telling that story now in his new book, Joseph Anton: A Memoir.

I understand that cocnern. Now, let me point something out to you. CAIR, the ISNA, and the Muslim American Society are the largest Muslims organizations in our country. They represent the "voice" of Muslim America.Problem is, all three either represent the Muslim Brotherhood, or act as a voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran.None are truly "moderate". They do not represent the voice of Moderate Muslim America.Moderate Muslims have not incarnated themselves, they have not worked to ensure their voices are represented. There is no organized moderate Muslim voice. In fact, there are no moderate Muslim political organizations, media outlets, academic institutions, or governments, of any appreciable size, anywhere in the world. That does not mean there are not Moderate Muslims. But, it means the average American can not hear your voice. There's a guy who posts here sometimes from an organization called Muslims Against Sharia. He seems like a great guy. But, I don't think his organization has more than a 100 members, and certainly they do not have a budget like that of CAIR or the ISNA, and there voice is never given representation in the media.Sad state of affairs.By the way, you probably understand that the average American has already seen through the likes of CAIR. If not, then I hope you come to understand it.
