Gee, how ironic. America gets criticized for daring to recognize our illegal alien problem and implementing a long-overdue crackdown, but Mexico's reputation for brutality gets a pass by everyone, including Geraldo Rivera and Mexico's corruption-in-chief Calderon.

To the above comment: President Calderon is not a corrupt man. He tries to do what he can with what is available. He is offering the Guatemalans that are here the chance to stay if they have work. This government struggles with its own poverty issues; they cannot sustain the Guatemalans too. The people mistreating the Immigrants are corrupt and ignorant police officers, and fellow Guatemalans looking to extort a few pesos. I really have disdain for ignorant comments about Mexico's President. Take a look at Bush!! Now the USA is deporting its own citizens to Mexico, how screwed up is that?

There will always be a tide of humanity flowing from poorer environments of the world to richer, and we are no exception. You and I, in a similar situation, would do or think of performing the same migration. Although illegals are and will be a constant challenge to face, the main problem is the incompetency of bunglers in Washington. Before we badmouth the behavior of our desperate Latin neighbors, let's put our house in order first and instigate some kind of control along the border.
