Here in the US there few Fair Trade options available to the average consumer. It's only when a large mainstream chocolate company carries Fair Trade will the average American consumer start to become aware of the Fair Trade issue - especially with regards to chocolate/cocoa. It's sad that most Americans don't realize that the cheap chocolate we enjoy here often comes at the expense of child labor (and slavery) - not to mention the devastation that modern cocoa plantations have on the environment.<br /> <br /> ...and yes, I do have a small Fair Trade/organic chocolate company that specializes in chocolate truffles - Coco-Zen (www.coco-zen.com). While I advocate and constantly talk about Fair Trade, I'm just a small boutique company with limited reach. It's time to make chocolate an ethical indulgence.
