Congrats to Cadbury for making this move, but why aren't they offering Fair Trade in the US?? Here in the US there few Fair Trade options available to the average consumer. It's only when a large mainstream chocolate company carries Fair Trade will the average American consumer start to become aware of the Fair Trade issue - especially with regards to chocolate/cocoa. It's sad that most Americans don't realize that the cheap chocolate we enjoy here often comes at the expense of child labor (and slavery) - not to mention the devastation that modern cocoa plantations have on the environment.

...and yes, I do have a small Fair Trade/organic chocolate company that specializes in chocolate truffles - Coco-Zen (www.coco-zen.com). While I advocate and constantly talk about Fair Trade, I'm just a small boutique company with limited reach. It's time to make chocolate an ethical indulgence.
