Famous explorer Captain Cook's ship may have been found in Newport, Rhode Island

He’s been called the first man "to boldly go where no man has been before." Or, at least, no Englishman. Captain James Cook explored and mapped Australia and New Zealand, and became the model for Captain James T. Kirk of Star Trek fame. Cook's ship, the Endeavour, has its echoes in Kirk’s Enterprise. Marine archaeologists say they may have now found the Endeavour — off Newport, Rhode Island.
