Lebanon's trash is piling up on the streets — and that's not the only thing there that stinks

The mountains of garbage and the odor filling the air in Beirut have caused residents of Lebanon's capital city to vent their anger in an online campaign, "You Stink." The rubbish has been sitting uncollected along the streets of Beirut for more than a month because one of the city's largest landfills is full. Protests turned violent in the face of a heavy-handed government response.

Stock markets rebounded in Europe and started strongly (but did not finish so) on Wall Street on Tuesday after strong losses in two previous sessions because of fears of weakness in China's economy. China has cut interest rates and its bank has pumped in $200 billion to try to stop China's stock slide.
