About Dan Coffey
Dr. Science first arrived on the science scene in 1981 on New Year's Day. Some blame management at KQED/San Francisco. Since management there has turned over two or three times since then, the station can say it's blameless. Rumor has it that he grew up in the vast cornfields of Iowa, but details on this and other questions of origin are sketchy. Earliest reports place him in the company of that motley crew of merrymakers, the Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre.
