The evening’s lineup will include popular This American Life contributors Dan Savage, Starlee Kine, Mike Birbiglia, David Rakoff and Dave Hill, plus a cartoon by Chris Ware, additional visuals by Arthur Jones, and a special musical performance by Joss Whedon, creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”  Together they will perform a two-hour, live stage version of the radio show, centered on the theme “Return to the Scene of the Crime.”

Produced by Chicago Public Radio, "This American Life" is PRI's multiple award-winning, critically acclaimed program that describes and documents contemporary American life. More "This American Life."

Great interview with Stephen Colbert. I had never heard of you or your show on public radio, but I'm going to check it out ASAP. And, by the way, are you married? You're are just too cute!

Ira Glass owns my heart. Each week, I await in anticipation the one hour on Saturday when his voice comes through the radio.

His voice is so fantastic, and this video of him is absolutely adorable! I'm a twenty year old college student, and I think he's SO precious. I really don't think he understands how wonderful he makes my life.
I love you, Ira!

Just saw the live show. It was *GREAT*!Mike Birbiglia was hilarious, as always, but Dan Savage was definitely the best part.
HOWEVER, David Rakoff and David Hill were NOT THERE! No mention as to why they were absent. WTF???

Finally, people will know what I'm talking about when I wear my, "this american life", t-shirt. For some reason, this interview seems to have been more widely seen by my friends than the one on Letterman, last yr.

I don't have a teevee but I watched this on Hulu. Ira Glass would doubtlessly cringe to hear it said but: he looked super-hot. I can't really get over hearing his voice and seeing him at the same time (kind of like how I can't get over picturing the guy who sings the Ketchup song now that I've seen Prairie Home Companion live) but whatever, Ira is hot.

Fun clip! Thanks for posting the Colbert nation url. I love this show and I only recently discovered that PRI was separate from NPR. Ira mentioned the need for funding. I've donated to NPR, now I will make sure that I donate to this show on PRI.
