Sometimes Jonathan is just Fortune's Fool -- on this episode, stories of luck and misfortune.

Listen in as Jonathan Goldstein speaks with a luck expert to get to the root of his misfortune; Howard winds up at the doctor's office with an unlucky tummy ache; and Gregor tests his luck, and Jonathan's friendship, at a Las Vegas Casino.
The "Toronto Star" describes "WireTap" as "[pitting] the absurd against the plausible. The sense is of a world not completely unlike our own that runs parallel ... conversation, storytelling and introspection, culled from equal parts real-world experience and the warp of Goldstein's imagination" and the "Montreal Gazette" calls the show "something between borscht-belt comedy and Franz Kafka."

"WireTap" is a weekly eavesdropping delight in which host Jonathan Goldstein talks on the phone with fabulous storytellers. More "WireTap."

I love Wire Tap - I would love Wire Tap even MORE, if I could have podcasts. My favorite Saturday's involve driving down the 51 in Phoenix, listening to Jonathan Goldstein argue with Gregor.

Yes, Podcasts would be awesome. The "This American Life setup" would be killer. Personally I just like to down load the full MP3 without iTunes or anything like that. I just donated $60 to TAL to support this service and would gladly do the same for WireTap.

My NPR affiliate has TAL at 2pm and Wiretap at 3pm. It is the best two hours in broadcast media, period.

Today's episode (10/4 on KJZZ) was particularly funny.
