Public Radio International (PRI) announces the appointment of Elton Langland as director of Sponsor Alliances. In this senior management position, he is responsible for helping to set and meet sponsorship revenue goals for sales of PRI inventory across on-air and online platforms; managing sponsorship staff, vendors and related budgets; analyzing opportunities for revenue growth; maintaining strong relationships with current sponsors; and cultivating partnerships with prospective sponsors. Langland assumed his duties earlier this month.

Julia Yager, PRI vice president of Brand Management and Marketing Strategy, says, "Elton is a strong public media advocate who brings extensive experience in print and online media sales to PRI. His background and his enthusiasm for our innovative approach to partnerships will be invaluable as we continue to expand our sponsorship activities. I'm thrilled that he is now part of the team."

Langland says of his new appointment, "I am so excited to return to public media, and I feel lucky to be working for a company like PRI that brings the voices of the world to American listeners and furthers understanding of our diverse, interdependent world. I look forward to offering businesses and organizations the opportunity, through program sponsorship, to reach our informed and engaged listeners."

Before coming to PRI, Langland was advertising sales director at "Twin Cities Luxury & Fashion" magazine, where, among other successes, he managed the sales team that exceeded revenue goals using multi-platform sales strategies and campaigns he developed. Before that, he worked as advertising sales manager for Rake Publishing Inc. and set several records in print and online advertising revenue. Langland worked as an account executive for several years at Minnesota Public Radio, where, as one of the station's top revenue producers, he sold its first-ever exclusive Web, event and venue sponsorships. He graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin — Eau Claire in Political Science. An unconditional University of Minnesota Gopher sports fan, Langland resides with his wife and two daughters in Golden Valley, Minn.
