Public Radio International (PRI) announces that selected programs and feature segments from its portfolio are now available on iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store offering free educational content. Featuring audio from such innovative PRI programs as "The World," "Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen," "Living on Earth," "To the Best of Our Knowledge" and "America Abroad," the audio content is available to educators, students and life-long learners for download in the Beyond Campus section of iTunes U. PRI listings cover a range of global and cultural topics from U.S. foreign policy, international affairs, global health and economic security to social entrepreneurship, the environment and the arts.

"PRI is delighted to provide these new and valuable resources for online learners to better understand our interconnected world," says PRI Director of Digital Media Development and Distribution Morgan Church. "iTunes U offers us an exciting way to bring our content to new audiences. Given the breadth of our portfolio, we look forward to expanding our current Beyond Campus lineup."

Founded in 1983, Public Radio International leads media by producing, acquiring and distributing innovative content that enables U.S. audiences to "hear a different voice," bringing new voices, global journalism and cultural perspectives to the American public. Through partnerships with BBC World Service and station-based and independent producers, the Minneapolis-based network provides over 400 hours of programming each week, content that is broadcast and streamed online by over 800 PRI affiliates nationwide, whose radio broadcasts reach over 30 million listeners each week. Podcasts of PRI programs consistently rank in the top U.S. 100. PRI is the managing partner of the satellite radio company American Public Radio LLC, established with Chicago Public Radio®, WGBH Radio Boston and WNYC Radio. PRI programming is available via XM Public Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.

PRI is known for driving innovation in public radio through partnerships with stations, independent producers and other organizations, and for working collaboratively to pool resources, share risk and cultivate new talent. Its newest production is "The Takeaway," a groundbreaking morning-drive news show produced with WNYC Radio. PRI's best known offerings include "This American Life," produced by Chicago Public Radio®; PRI's "The World," a co-production of BBC World Service, PRI and WGBH Radio Boston; "Living on Earth," produced by World Media Foundation Inc.; "Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know?®," produced by Wisconsin Public Radio; "The Tavis Smiley Show," produced by Smiley Radio Properties Inc.; and "Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen" from PRI and WNYC Radio; as well as 24-hour program services — "Classical 24®," produced by American Public Media™; and BBC World Service, produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
